About Core Curiosity

What makes Core Curiosity different?

Most explainers tell you what everyone already knows. We start there, then go further. Each piece gives you a clear, complete overview of its subject. Then it turns to what most coverage misses: the overlooked detail, the misread motive, the thing that was dismissed at the time and only made sense in hindsight. You come away knowing the topic, and also knowing something about it most people don’t.

What kinds of topics will I explore?

Anything worth being curious about: history, science, business, technology, culture, people and ideas. Sometimes it’s a famous event seen from an angle you haven’t considered. Sometimes it’s a story you’ve never heard that deserves to be better known.

Who writes the pieces, and how do you check them?

Every piece is written in the voice of an experienced magazine writer and fact-checked to a scholarly standard. We favor primary sources and established research over hot takes. When historians or experts genuinely disagree, we tell you so.

How long does each piece take?

Reading and listening times vary by piece and format. A brief offers a quick summary; full audio takes a longer view. Premium audio and video are available on selected pieces, and the player shows each recording’s duration.

How it works

How does my weekly sequence work?

Everyone starts with article 1 immediately on signup. The next piece unlocks in your library seven days later, then one every seven days as the collection grows. One piece a week is deliberate. It’s enough to keep the habit alive and short enough to actually finish. Premium follows the same schedule.

Can I read past pieces?

Yes. Every piece you’ve received stays in your Library.

Can I suggest a topic?

Please do. Reader questions often turn into our best pieces. Contact us.

Free and Premium

What is included for free?

After free signup, you can read the full written piece each week and listen to available briefs, with no paid subscription required, plus access to your library of released pieces.

What does Premium unlock?

Briefs are free for signed-in members. Premium adds full audio, two-person discussions, and video where available. Listen on a commute, watch in the evening, or read over coffee. Choose the available format that suits your day. Premium does not unlock future articles or change your weekly schedule.

Why go Premium?

Because curiosity shouldn’t wait until you have time to read. Available Premium audio lets you take a piece on a walk, a drive or a workout, while video offers another way into the story. Paid subscriptions are planned as a way to support Core Curiosity while keeping the written edition free after signup.

Can I try an article before signing up?

Yes. Read our WW2 sample with no account needed, or watch a 30-second video preview. If you like it, sign up free to finish the piece, listen to its brief, and start your weekly sequence.

Can I subscribe to Premium now?

Not yet. Explore Premium and its planned pricing. Checkout is coming soon; no payment details are collected and no subscription is created.

Billing and cancellation

How much does Premium cost?

Can I cancel anytime?

Paid subscriptions and self-service billing are not available yet, so there is no cancellation flow in your account. Cancellation terms will be confirmed before checkout launches. For help with an existing Premium membership, contact us.
